Clotted Cream and Earl Grey

My dream came true today.

I had a traditional English tea time. Although I wasn't in a cute dress or wearing an elegant hat like Kate Middleton absolutely would have been, I felt like Princess Mia Thermopolis. Puffy hair and all. It was oh so delightful.

We did not have any meals provided by the Uni today, besides a very light sandwich selection at 4pm, so myself and the group of girl friends I have made decided to treat ourselves on our first Sunday in England with a brunch in downtown Chester. Yesterday while walking through the city for what felt like the 20th time, we stumbled upon a tea room called "Mad Hatter's." Our plan was to sleep in and then journey to have tea.

We arrived at about 11:30 this morning to the cutest tea room I have ever been to. Ok, it is the only tea room I have ever been to, but it still is number one. We had 12 people, so we split up into smaller tables. The girls at my table all decided to "go big or go home" and we each ordered Alice's afternoon tea for £12.95. Best idea ever. I am all for spending a little extra to get the real deal. And let me tell you, we got the real deal. I chose their house made Earl grey, which was served in a huge, cute tea pot, while Erica and our friend Missy had English Breakfast tea.

So proper and delicate.
Dying...Ya'll know my love for tea.
Are you seeing this?
CLOTTED CREAM...My life.

I want Afternoon Tea daily.
My scones and jams. Amazing.

This was unreal. I was so full but ate it all.

This was the menu book.

The sugar cubes were precious.

After an amazing tea experience, I decided I might forgo my Education degree and start a Tea Room in Kansas. We'll see how things are when I get back to the States.

After tea, Missy, Natasa, Erica and I decided to walk the Chester City wall. Read up about the history of the wall here. It was 70 degrees, sunny, and gorgeous. Here are some pictures from our walk.

That is all for today! Kellyn, I know you'l appreciate this post. Sending my love to the States!
